The main factor in weight and fat loss is eating in a calorie deficit. Essentially this means burning more calories then you have coming in.

Fad diets go to the EXTREME when it comes to this.

These ultra restrictive diets could be from eating as low as 500 calories, cutting out all carbs, not eating after a certain time, no sugar, etc.

The list is endless.

This is why it is vital to stay from fad diets, they are NOT sustainable in any way. Typically what happens is when you go on a crazy diet, you’ll lose weight initially and then because you’ve suppressed all your cravings, you end up binge eating. Very hard too.

What happens to all the weight you lost? Comes back and then some.

Therefore, when looking to lose weight on your fitness journey, eat in a balanced manner but in a calorie deficit!

Eat high in protein, whole foods and, high fiber.

Enjoy your favorite foods in moderation.

Eating in a sustainable manner will make it seem like you are not dieting at all because no longer are you suppressing cravings.

You simply eat in a manner that you can enjoy and live with!

How to start your fitness journey? With a balanced diet


Exercise 2-4 Times a Week

You do not have to go to the gym every day when you start your fitness journey.

Nor do you have to be doing an endless amount of steady-state cardio.

You can simply begin to create a larger calorie deficit by proper weight training and sprinkling in a bit of cardio.

Yes, there is a high likelihood that you will not know what exercises to do!

This is why it is vital to hire the right personal trainer.

When you are a beginner and embarking on your fitness journey, there may be a chance that you do not want to go and do your own research on the best exercises and programs for your goals.

By becoming more active you not only burn extra calories but you make fitness apart of your lifestyle.

You can simply burn more calories by walking around the house, at the park, putting things away, cleaning and so on.

Aim for 8-12k steps a day.

You can track this on your phone or by getting a FIT BIT or an APPLE WATCH.

Using those tools can make it easier for you to see how active you really are.


Enjoy It

Don’t take your fitness journey too seriously.

Relax and have fun with it.

The process in itself is beautiful because out of nowhere you will start noticing many changes.

Yes, you’ll notice how your physical body has changed but don’t expect to either. By not expecting you’ll be relaxed and let the results just happen.

Also, you’ll notice you have more energy and that you stay calmer.

There are many factors as to why you started your fitness journey but being too serious should be the last thing.
